BURGUNDY DIAMOND MINES is a global company focused on the mining, production, cutting, polishing, grading and sales of diamonds. Burgundy owns Ekati Diamond Mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories, world-renowned for producing clear, gem-quality stones and sought-after fancy coloured diamonds.
Craftmanship, experience, excellence
Founded in Perth, Australia, Burgundy operates its own local, secure diamond cutting, polishing, grading and sales centre. Artisans and trained specialists within our growing team are renowned for cutting and polishing the famous Argyle Pink diamonds for the past 30 years. Precision, excellence, and the ability to balance technology, craftsmanship and experience, give Burgundy the optimal outcome on each stone.
Grading
Our diamond grading team brings in-depth knowledge and expertise to the field, having graded Argyle Pink diamonds over the past three decades.
Burgundy uses a proprietary grading system for yellow diamonds. Colours range from the subtle tones of Fancy Light and Fancy, through to the vibrant tones of Fancy Intense and Fancy Vivid.
Our nomenclature provides each of our eight colour grades with individual price points that better reflect the broad range of intensity within each of the GIA colour grades.
Guaranteed provenance and traceability
Burgundy’s end-to-end business model and total chain of custody from mining through to manufacturing and sales, guarantee the undeniable provenance of all our stones.
Our polished diamonds are issued with a proprietary Burgundy Diamond Report of Authenticity to the buyer. The report specifies the diamonds 4C’s including a unique laser inscription number and country or mine of origin. Stones may also be issued with a GIA Diamond Grading Report.
Polished Diamond Sales
All polished diamond sales to jewellers and manufacturers around the world are completed through our Perth centre.

Transition into Diamonds
In November 2020 EHR Resources changed its name to Burgundy Diamond Mines to reflect the company’s transition into a developer of diamond projects with investments into the Naujaat Diamond Project in Canada’s Northwest Territories and the Botswana Exploration Alliance.
Acquisition of Arctic Canadian Diamond Company
Share purchase agreement with the Arctic Canadian Diamond companies was closed in July 2023, making Burgundy Diamond Mines a fully integrated global scale company that has the ability to trace the full chain of custody of high quality ethically and sustainably sources diamonds from Ekati Diamond Mine in Canada directly to its customers.
